Crick Chala and Emilio “El Negrito”, current members of the perreo fusion group, were pioneers in the arrival of classic reggaeton in Medellin. Nightclubs such as Seven Eleven and The Crazy's Club were the first venues where Chica Diez was sung, as well as in many cities in Colombia.
La Chica Diez is a song that combines recurring sounds in reggaeton with other very Colombian and Chocó sound experiments. The result? A catchy perreo that has been playing on radio stations and on old-school reggaeton playlists for more than 15 years.
Fusión Perreo still has many stories to tell through its songs and Chica 10 will continue to be heard and be a great reference for classic reggaeton.
Thanks to Crick Chala and Emilio “El negrito” for daring to write that first history of reggaeton in our city.
