ICONIC SAMPLES FROM THE HISTORY OF REGGAETON

Mode Up is a musical style that was born from Dance-hall by artists from the Archipelago of San Andrés. Artists such as Shungu, Mr. Pomps, Juancho Stylee, Jiggy Drama, Rayo y Toby and Dj Buxxi started with this musical legacy on the island and made it popular in many parts of the country.

We spoke with Buxxi, who was the music producer of songs like 'Hola qué tal', 'Sin Compromiso' and 'Roze Remix' at a time when YouTube didn't exist and music traveled through the fervor of the people.

Dj Buxxi was also the first music entrepreneur to bring Ñejo to Colombia in a concert he gave on the Island of San Andrés, where he also performed shows with Plan B, Nicky Jam, Ñejo and Dalmata, among others.

Did you know about this musical rhythm and what San Andrés has built in the reggaeton industry?
